In recognition of his philanthropic contributions and community development efforts, Sanjay Kumarjha, an Indian national and Managing Director of Narayan Trading Company, has been installed as Chief Amuludun of Ayetoro Aduran Mupin, Ota, Ogun State.
The chieftaincy title was conferred on Kumarjha in acknowledgment of his numerous kind gestures, including the creation of jobs, road development, and other impactful projects in the community.
Since arriving in Nigeria in 2010, Kumarjha has worked in several industries, forging close relationships with local employees, engaging in their culture, and immersing himself in Nigerian traditions.
In his remarks, Kumarjha expressed his deep affection for Nigeria and its people. “When I was working in different companies, I met many Nigerians. I realized they are hardworking and need guidance and support. That inspired me to open my own company in 2019 and further my dream of supporting and uplifting them,” he stated.
To complement his business ventures, Kumarjha established the Narayan Charity Foundation, which has been actively addressing the needs of vulnerable Nigerians. Through the foundation, he has spearheaded initiatives such as food distribution, medical aid, and providing prosthetic limbs to those in need.
Kumarjha emphasised that the foundation is dedicated solely to Nigerians and aims to address critical areas such as hunger, health, and skills development.
“My goal is to create opportunities for young Nigerians by developing their skills. We are working on introducing professional courses in Information Technology (IT), cooking, and medicine. IT is in high demand globally, and Nigerians can greatly benefit from acquiring these skills,” he said.
Kumarjha pledged to continue his efforts in empowering the community, with plans to establish a sanitary pad company and introduce skill development programs to further enhance the livelihoods of Nigerians.
High Chief Kazeem Olaonipekun, the Baale of Ayetoro Aduran Mupin, in whose domain the title emanated, extolled the virtues of Kumarjha, for contributing in no small measure to the upliftment of the town and its citizens through his selfless charity programmes and projects.
“The chieftaincy title is a way of appreciating and encouraging him to continue with the good work, while calling on others in his capacity to tow similar path,” he said.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Akeem Odunaro, the Onikotun of Otun Ota, who represented HRM, Oba Prof. Abdulkadir Lanlege, the Olota of Ota, commended Kumarjha’s efforts, stating that the conferment of chieftaincy titles fosters development and inclusivity within the community.
The General Manager of Narayan Trading Company, Idowu Olaide, lauded Kumarjha for enhancing the company’s reputation and contributing to the community.
