The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Josiah Majebi, has admonished the state Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, to train his men on handling criminal suspects.
Justice Majebi gave the advise yesterday when he received a courtesy visit from the Commissioner of Police in his office, Lokoja.
Police spokesman, SP William Ovye, in a statement, said Justice Majebi emphasised the need for Police Officers to undergo legal training to ensure due process in handling criminal cases.
In response, Dantawaye expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the judiciary that he would establish a legal training platform for officers to enhance their knowledge of the Law.
The CP reiterated his commitment to justice, security, and cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure peace in Kogi State.
In a similar development, CP Miller Dantawaye played host to leaders of ECWA, Lokoja DCC, led by the DCC Chairman Rev. Dr. Frank Paul.
The command also hosted the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), led by Dr. Mrs. Dantawaye, as well as a delegation of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Kogi State Chapter led by the State Coordinator Mr Austin Tantoluwa, and Globacom (Glo) Regional Office, Lokoja, led by the Regional Manager, Mr Mohammed.
The visitors pledged support and collaboration with CP Dantawaye in his battle against criminal elements in the state.
