Equipped to Evangelize – International Christian Concern

Date:

3/18/2025 Kenya (International Christian Concern) — In the coastal region of Mombasa County, an evangelist named Rodgers faced significant challenges in sharing the gospel in remote villages.

Despite his unwavering faith and dedication, Rodgers struggled to reach the isolated communities due to the lack of transportation and resources.

For years, Rodgers’s mission to share the love and truth of Christ was hindered by the rough terrain and long distances he had to travel by foot. He often arrived at the villages exhausted and with little energy left to deliver his sermons. For years, Rodgers walked miles under the scorching Mombasa sun, carrying only his Bible and a heart full of passion for spreading the gospel.

The physical and emotional toll of his work was immense, but he remained committed to his calling.

His mission took him through remote villages, bustling markets, and the hidden corners of the coastal city. However, reaching people was not easy. The long distances, lack of transportation, and limited access to Bibles made his work slow and exhausting.

“I would wake up early and walk for hours just to share the word with a few families,” he said. “By the time I reached them, I was already drained. Sometimes, I had to turn back because nightfall came too soon.”

As he began to feel discouraged, International Christian Concern (ICC) heard about his struggles and decided to support his ministry. We provided a brand-new motorbike and a supply of Bibles.

“Everything changed in an instant,” Rodgers said. “Now, I can travel quickly and reach many more people in a single day. I no longer have to worry about exhaustion or time constraints.”

With the motorbike, he expanded his ministry to other villages, reaching people who had never heard the gospel. The Bibles he distributes have become a source of hope and transformation for many people.

Today, Rodgers is more determined than ever. He continues to ride from village to village, spreading the love of Christ and equipping believers using the generous support he received. His ministry is flourishing, and the light of the gospel is shining brighter in Mombasa.

“What seemed impossible before is now a reality,” he said. “God has used this motorbike and these bibles to open doors I never imagined. I am deeply grateful.”
