Al-Bayan Interfaith Centre on Friday called for the immediate prosecution of all those involved in the killing of Northern travelers in Uromi, Edo State.

The group, in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Imam Muhammad Jibrin Ndagi, urged Edo and Kano governors to promote the spirit of love, and togetherness devoid of acrimony and mutual suspicions among Nigerians irrespective of where they come from.

Al-Bayan, therefore called on relevant authorities to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the killing as they commended the Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, and his Kano State counterpart, Abbah Yusuf for their respective roles in dousing raised tensions in the wake of the incident.

“We are deeply saddened and outraged by this brutal act of violence, which is a clear violation of human rights and the fundamental values of compassion, tolerance, and respect for human life,” Ndagi said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims, as we pray that Allah grants them strength, comfort, and justice.

“We call on the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and take concrete measures to prevent such senseless violence from occurring again.”

Al-Bayan Interfaith Center, however, urged all Nigerians to rise in condemnation of every act of terrorism and to promote peace, understanding, and mutual respect among all communities.

They called for justice for the victims and their families and reiterated their commitment to promoting security, peace, and harmonious living in Nigerian communities.
