3/26/2024 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) — Gunmen reportedly killed six people, including a pastor, in separate attacks during the weekend in the Kadarko community of Keana Local Government Area in Nasarawa State.
Three people in the Tse-Abir Azer community in Kadarko were shot around 4 p.m. on Friday, March 22, as they fished by a local river. Two farmers died instantly, while Pastor Kingsley Orshase died on Saturday at the hospital. Three other farmers were gunned down on Sunday morning.
Denis Utsa, chair of the United Farmers Association of Kadarko, confirmed the attack on Monday. In addition to the deaths, Utsa said, many other farmers suffered gunshot wounds.
The victims reportedly had gone fishing at a nearby river when the shooters attacked them. Utsa also shared that a Fulani pastoralist was killed in a retaliatory attack.
Authorities have yet to confirm the deaths, and the gunmen have not been identified.
