4/3/2024 Pakistan (International Christian Concern) – In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz celebrated Easter with a heartwarming message of love, compassion, and forgiveness. Nawaz fully embraced the joy of Eastertime during her visit to Maryamabad, a place near Sheikhupura, on Sunday.
She joined the local Christian community in its celebrations there, marking the occasion by cutting an Easter cake alongside Christian leaders.
Adding to the day’s significance, Nawaz made a historic visit to the Maryam Church in Maryamabad. It has been 131 years since a chief minister of Punjab visited the church. She also took part in distributing Easter grants to Christian families across Punjab. A generous gesture, ensuring 10,000 families received 5,000 Pakistani rupees each, or about $18, to help spread joy and support among the community.
Maryam Nawaz’s actions have sent a powerful message of unity and affection to the Christian community in Pakistan. By participating in the Easter celebrations and extending financial support to Christian families, she has underscored the importance of coming together in harmony and mutual respect, regardless of faith.
