Kendrick Lamar has taken over the Billboard Hot 100, locking down the first spot.
His hit song, Not Like Us, becomes the longest running solo rap song in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. (27 weeks) This has broken the record previously held by Drake’s God’s Plan. (26 weeks), something no rapper has done before.
But this victory isn’t just about numbers; it’s happening right in the middle of his heated battle with Drake, making things even more intense.
This rap war didn’t come out of nowhere. It all began in October 2023 when Drake and J. Cole dropped First Person Shooter and called themselves part of the “big three” alongside Lamar. But in March 2024, Lamar fired back with Like That, making it clear he wasn’t sharing the throne with anyone: “It’s just big me.” That one line set the internet on fire and kicked off one of the most explosive rap feuds in years.
Drake quickly responded with Push Ups, but Lamar wasn’t backing down. He released Euphoria, throwing heavy shots at Drake. The tension escalated with more diss tracks, including Family Matters from Drake and Meet the Grahams from Lamar, where Lamar accused Drake of having a secret daughter and called him a predator.
