The second edition of the youth gathering, “Be The Force,” aimed at empowering young people with essential guidance for their life journeys, successfully concluded with a focus on mentorship, relationships, networking, and community service as vital components for success.
The event featured remarks from several prominent speakers, including the Emir of Zazzau, HRM Alhaji Yakubu, who was represented by the Wakili of Zazzau. He encouraged youths to seek guidance from accomplished mentors who can provide valuable direction for personal and professional growth. He noted that choosing the right mentor is crucial for thriving in various fields.
Former Senator Shehu Sani spoke about the transformative vision of “Be The Force 2.0,” highlighting its role in shaping young minds. He urged attendees to seek mentors aligned with their career aspirations.
He said, “If you want mentorship the first thing is to educate yourself. When you’re educated, you have the tools to pursue your dreams and ideas. The second step in setting your goal is, what do you want to be? If you want mentorship in politics, go to a politician, for business, go to a businessman. You can’t go to Dangote to tell him to mentor you in politics, because it’s not his field.”
Host and former presidential candidate of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, called on youths to take charge of their destinies and actively participate in governance and community development.
He said, “You can become a force in business, but you must engage with opportunities and dedicate yourself to active service.”
The gathering also saw the induction and graduation of approximately 1,000 members from the Institute Of Skills Qualifications and Development of Nigeria, supported by JPTS. This programme marks a significant step in the professional development of young individuals pursuing success in both technical and non-technical education.
In a separate panel session moderated by Dr. Madima Ogwo, various speakers—including Dr. Alero Adjekota, Engr. Noah Dallaji, Dr. Stella Okotete, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, and the Honorable Minister for Youth Development, represented by Comrade Adedotun Omoleye—unified in their call for strategic growth plans among youths.
The event concluded with a presentation of Awards of Excellence to the keynote speaker and distinguished guests by Prof. Imumolen, recognizing their contributions to youth empowerment and development.
