Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has cautioned politicians against premature campaigns for his second term, stressing that his focus remains on delivering socio-economic transformation in the state.
Governor Ododo, speaking through the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, urged supporters and political actors to channel their energy toward supporting his administration’s development agenda instead of engaging in early politicking.
“The focus of everyone should be on how to take Kogi to the next level, as the Chief Servant is working hard to make Kogi great,” Fanwo said.
He noted the administration’s achievements, including a recent anniversary celebration where stakeholders gathered to discuss the state’s future. According to him, the event symbolized a “Kogi rebirth,” reflecting the government’s commitment to progress.
Governor Ododo’s administration, Fanwo noted, is actively working to position Kogi as a prime investment destination through improved security, infrastructure, and business-friendly policies. Key projects in the pipeline include plans for an airport, a free trade zone, and enhanced standards in the hospitality industry.
“We are tailoring our education sector to produce quality human resources for the industrial revolution that is gradually unfolding in the state,” he added.
Acknowledging the Federal Government’s support in harnessing Kogi’s mineral resources, Fanwo reassured investors of a conducive business environment.
“Ododo is on a mission to make Kogi State economically viable and to empower the people through shared prosperity,” he said.
The commissioner called on political actors to align with the government’s vision rather than engage in distractions, stressing that Governor Ododo remains focused on governance rather than political manoeuvring.
“For the Chief Servant, it is time for work and not time for politics. He won’t play politics with the development of the state,” Fanwo asserted. “He has earned the trust of the Kogi people, and to retain that trust, he will continue to work hard for them, secure them, empower them, and create a state where people can prosper.”
He further said that Governor Ododo’s impact is evident across various sectors and reassured citizens that the administration would stay committed to delivering tangible progress.
“Governor Ododo’s footprints are bold on the sands of all sectors, and the people are quite impressed. He will continue to work for the people. That is his focus,” he added.
