Vice President Kashim Shettima, has urged Nigerians to reflect on the values enshrined in the lyrics of the new national anthem and strive to embody them in their daily lives.

He said the values embedded in the national anthem are an ‘instruction manual for patriotism’ for every Nigerian.

The Vice President, who was represented by his Special Adviser on General Duties, Dr Aliyu Umar, stated this at the book launch titled “In Brotherhood We Stand” the Nigerian National Anthem Beyond Melody in Abuja.

The leader, House of Representatives, and the Chief Host of the event Julius Ihonvbere, said the significance of this book written by Osere Daniels transcends mere words on paper; it signifies a collective reflection on the national anthem that serves as the vocal embodiment of our hopes, aspirations, and dreams as a nation.

“Having read it myself, I can attest to its merit and ability to inspire patriotism, strengthen the culture of unity in diversity and a renewed commitment to national service,” he said.
The Chairman/CEO CITYGATE GROUP, High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, said the book was a tacit reminder of the core or essence of nationality – unity in diversity and that diversity can be our strength if maximised

He said the book addresses other critical aspects of national values, which if adhered to, will enable us to build a greater Nigeria.

Also, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen.George Akume, said the book would fill the current gap in the public understanding and collective commitment to nation-building.

Akume, represented by his Technical Adviser, Prof. Babatunde Bernard, recommended the book for a general readership, especially to the players, the younger generation, and those in authority.

“As a proud Nigerian, I wish to assure Nigerians, especially our youth, that the nation is on track and I am confident in the reforms contained in the Renew Hope agenda of the President aimed at positioning the country on the path to prosperity.”

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudden Abbas, said a profound understanding of the ideals encapsulated in the national anthem was a better way of reclaiming Nigeria
